WOMEN IN HEALTH (WIHS) AND SAFETY JOINS THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION (NAWIC) FOR A DISCUSSION ON WELLBEING IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY.

This initiative is a joint Women in Health & Safety and National Association of Women in Construction event which is hosted by Barbour EHS; the provider of tools and information for health and safety professionals. They have recently launched a Mental Health and Wellbeing module which equips organisations with the tools and documents they need to create a healthy and thriving workplace.
WIHS is a thriving network of people who support gender equality and want to see women flourish in the Health and Safety profession. The NAWIC is one of the world's longest-running organisations for women working in construction who are committed to transforming the industry to one which reflects the diversity of our society.
Moderated by Heather Beach, founder of the Healthy Work Company (which offers training and consultancy in mental health and wellbeing), the panel will consist of senior figures in the wellbeing industry who will talk about initiatives which have worked in their businesses.
The panel will include Dr Judith Grant from Mace, Jennie Armstrong from Thames Tideway and Heike Grimm from Multiplex.

Judith Grant - Associate Director of Health and Wellbeing, Mace
Judith Grant is Associate Director of Health and Wellbeing at Mace and is responsible for strategic health and wellbeing delivery across the global company. As the former Group Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing at Royal Mail Group Judith achieved success in developing and delivering wellbeing strategy and programmes. With a background that includes working in community health for a local authority, in corporate health promoting wellbeing programmes to businesses and personal training both for a gym and privately, Judith has a varied background in health and wellbeing promotion.
Heather Beach - Founder and Managing Director, The Healthy Work Company
Heather Beach is the founder and Managing Director of The Healthy Work Company. She has been running businesses in the health and safety community for over 20 years. Having started in information services running the first available health and safety service from HSE on CD-ROM at SilverPlatter – she moved to Barbour and then to Safety & Health Expo, SHP, and IOSH conference. The founder of Women in Health and Safety and the Barbour webinar series which attracts over 3000 attendees a month – Heather continues to run both of these in partnership with UBM. She also writes for SHP.
Jennie Armstrong – Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing, Thames Tideway
Jennie has worked in the construction industry since 2009, on a range of major projects including the London 2012 Olympics, Crossrail and now Tideway. She is responsible for setting the strategic direction for health and wellbeing at Tideway with the vision of achieving greater parity between health and safety. A registered nurse with an MSc in Occupational Health from the University of Birmingham, Jennie is chair of the BOHS Breathe Freely in Construction steering group and a member of the Health in Construction Leadership Group.
Heike Grimm - Occupational Health Advisor, Multiplex Europe
After graduating from the University of Freiburg in Germany in medicine, Heike continued her studies to complete a degree in nursing. Heike has worked as nurse in several hospitals across London before becoming the Occupational Health Advisor for Multiplex. In 2015, Heike also qualified as a life coach with a focus on stress management and in her spare time volunteers at the YMCA central.
